Why study sociology?

Sociology is the study of human society. It involves the systematic study and explanation of human social life, groups and societies.

Sociologists aim to investigate and understand the world and human behaviour within it. They are particularly interested in understanding the ways in which society influences us and shapes our lives.

What skills will I need?

In order to study Sociology you should ensure that you have good written skills as your assessments will require you to write some long mini essay style answers. It would also be useful if you are someone who is able to express an opinion about the world we live in.
