GCSE Dance

Unit 1 – The study and analysis of two professional dance works, along with knowledge and understanding of performance and choreography. Students will need to demonstrate an ability to recognise the significance of the outcome within own choreography and that of professional repertoires.

Unit 2 – The set study which is set by the exam board and is a practical piece of work that is learnt and focuses upon performance skills of the student.

Unit 3 – A performance within a group, based upon one of the prescribed professional dance works.

Unit 4 – Choreography consisting of solo and group tasks based upon professional dance works and own stimuli.

From September 2016 there is a new GCSE Dance Syllabus.
